We are delighted to announce that Mostafa won Best Materials Science poster at the recent International Union of Crystallography Congress 2026 in Calgary, Canada. This is a massively prestigious award and fiendishly competitive. It is also worth mentioning that Mostafa won first prize at the Monash Engineering Postgraduate Conference in July this year with this same poster. Great work Mostafa!

This Sunday Philip hosted a BBQ for students, co-supervisors and friends. It was an opportunity to share a meal with all the fabulous people in the team and say farewell to Bikas who has made a great contribution to the research group during his post-doc at Monash. It was a day of interesting conversation, plenty of laughs and lots of tasty food. Thank you to everyone who came along!

At the start of this year Philip and his team ventured to the Asia Pacific Microscopy Conference in Brisbane. They shared their research in posters and talks and enjoyed catching up with colleagues from around Australia and abroad. Here's the team on the main stage of the Great Hall in the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
